3.1 DESCRIPTION
Course Description: Nowadays, more and more activities are proclaimed as Projects. However, very little knowledge of business activities are conducted as a Project. A Project Management is a profession that has its own rules. Lack of understanding of Project Management and violations of design rules always lead to bad results. Most often, the Project is then not finished and all financial and other contributions are more or less thrown away. In the course, students will acquire knowledge about the key Project Management factors for success: understanding the environment of a Project, its life cycle, the role of a Project Management and most used Methodologies in Project Management (PMI, IPMA, PRINCE 2).
Course Objectives: To enable student(s) to understand the environment of a Project Management, what is project and approach to Project Management. The purpose of this course is to acquaint students with an overview of Project Management as a tool for effective realization of the objectives in the private and public sectors. Students will become familiar with the conceptual basis of modern methods Project Management both in the Social Sciences and in other areas, including Research and Development.
Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, students will be able to know the basis of Project Management and its components. Students will have fundamental knowledge about most (standard) used methodologies in the field of Project Management.
